America's Second Revolution—A Tax Revolution
“The FairTax Book” (Hardcover) debuted on the New York Times Best-Seller List on August 21, 2005 in the #1 position. The book remained in the top ten for seven weeks. An incredible accomplishment for a book on taxes! It brought attention to America's second revolution—a tax revolution. Public awareness has created a landslide of new volunteer support, including the FairTaxScorecard.com. “The Fair Tax Book: Saying Goodbye to the Income Tax and the IRS” (Paperback) was released on May 1, 2006. This is more than just a reprint in paperback; it is a revised edition with new information, corrections, and clarifications. Neal Boortz has added a 5000 word chapter to the end of the book.
Support for the Fair Tax Act of 2005 has grown to 56 sponsors in the house (H.R.25) and 4 in the senate (S.25). Support for repel of the 16th amendment that gives congress the right (not requirement) to impose a direct income tax on citizens has also grown (H.J.Res.16.). In comparison, the Flat Tax (H.R.1040) has only six sponsors in the house with no new support in the past year. The senate does not even have a horse in the Flat Tax race!
FairTax.org spearheaded the revolution with research, education, and long lasting persistence to get this legislation considered by congress. While the FairTax.org's efforts are invaluable, the book moved the Fair Tax discussion off of K Street and into the living rooms of America. Great Job Neal and John!
We still have a lot of work to do in congress. Even today, many senators, representatives and especially state legislators either don’t know about the Fair Tax or don’t know what the legislation actually says. The President’s Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform drives this point home. The findings of the panel regarding a national sales tax were not based on the reform proposed by H.R./S.25. The panel changed the terms of the plan either deliberately or due to ignorance.
We can solve both of these congressional short comings. In November we can vote Fair Tax opponents out of office. Today, however, we can fix ignorance. We can send a copy of the Fair Tax book to every U.S. Congress Persons Office in the nation. Every office in Washington D.C. and every local or district office in your state must receive a copy of the Fair Tax book! We won’t stop there either. Once the feds are done, we can get a copy to every state legislator’s office. We need to attack Washington and our own state capitals today!
This is the time to educate our federal congress and their staffers. The U.S. Congress must pass The Fair Tax Act of 2005. We can also get a jump start on repeal of the 16th Amendment—and we need the state legislators’ support to do that. We must get a book in the hands of every lawmaker. With over 7,300 state and federal lawmakers, this is a Big Harry Audacious Goal (BHAG), but it must be done. The real challenge is that lawmakers have as many as six or seven offices. We need to send over 20,000 books to congress and the state legislators. Now that is a BHAG! Twenty thousand books along with your letters and phone calls will get their attention!
FairTaxScorecard.com is ready to support this effort. Every congressman has a scorecard page with a place to record your book submissions. We track every office! You also have to opportunity to simply order the book and we will pack and mail it for you. This is a big hairy audacious goal—but with your help, we can do it!
Follow the links below to record your submission or buy a book. Order books today for family, friends, and your representatives.

FairTax.org, Neal Boortz, and Congressman John Linder have done their part, now it is up to us to educate our legislators. We must let them know that we do not fear the changes that must be made.
